Team Science is a research networking system that promotes the successful organization, communication, and research conduction of collaborators. Teamscience.net is an online portal that houses interactive training modules as part of the COALESCE project (CTSA Online Assistance for Leveraging the Science of Collaborative Effort) and funded, in part, by the Department of Health Services.
The university reached out to engage with FarShore based on the success of previous work completed for the NU-You mobile application. FarShore provided dedicated iOS and Android development support of this application for Northwestern 2020 freshmen students, as part of a 2-year research study. The University’s department of Preventative Medicine, conducted the study to assess a mobile device’s effectiveness for maintaining or improving health habits in college students.
The Northwestern Clinical and Translational Sciences received a grant to update and reconfigure the outdated Team Science portal, but needed to be revitalized in a way that was SCORM compliant. SCORM are technical standards for e-learning software to ensure interoperability.
FarShore restructured the modules for optimized use on mobile devices by converting from flash to HTML and utilizing the Articulate E-learning software to ensure accessibility.
